Thirty film scores composed and arranged by Ennio Morricone were for westerners; hundreds others for other films. And yet Ennio Morricone is best known for these spaghetti westerns. Other notable works by the Italian composer include The Untouchables (1987), Cinema Paradiso (1988) and others. He became only the second composer to receive the Honorary Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement (in 2007) without ever having won an oscar before.
